Going to do about 2 a day until done. It just makes the most sense.

31 days of writing

11. How much detail do you usually leave out of a story?

LEAVE OUT?! *looks around for the detail stick* Okay, since [personal profile] etcetera_cat isn't looking to beat me with the detail stick*, I can say I do leave out a lot. I do. At least in a first draft. Because the first draft is about getting the characters down and the plot down. It's the second draft where I can go back and add details (like what someone looks like/sounds like, or whether they're inside or outside) that are important. I do, occasionally go overboard, but that's usually to make a point in the narrative. Though sometimes, it's just because I felt like it.

*Long, old joke between her and I. Please don't beat me

12. Where do you turn when your research is coming up with nothing of value to the story?

That depends on the research. A lot of times my failure at research is the failure of my brain to stick to one track hard and then refuse to branch out. Usually, I recognize this and manage, in some fashion to start thinking of other avenues to travel.

However, if all else fails? Make. Shit. Up. That's what's great about fantasy. Most of the time it's all in your head anyway.

30 days of fanfiction

11 – Genre – do you prefer certain genres of fic when you're writing? What kind do you tend to write most?

Mrr. I'm going with just general 'fiction'. I like to tell a story. Occasionally, I can pull out the angst or the funny, or something like that, but for me, it's really about the story.

12 – Have you ever attempted an "adaptation" fic of a favorite book or movie but set in a different fandom?

Nope. Crossovers, yes.
