I've made 12k. I'm actually kinda worried that I don't have enough story to make 50k, but then, I'm not real worried about it. Because I've barely gotten through the character intros and am about to switch gears into a fight scene (which explains why my brain is draaaaaaaagging things out).

I'm off to get dressed and take my two awesome kids out to have a good time with Mommy for a change!

I wrote about 950 words at 1am. Then, I went to bed.

Right now, my count is:

So, I'm not doing too badly. I'm hoping to get Day 2 count done, and then go play NWN2 as a treat. Wish me luck.

Ever have those moments, while writing, where just go "FUCK ME WHAT?"

This is one of those moments.

The edit of Knights of Orion with my editing notes added to it is completely done.

Completely. Done.

The rewrite is in August. But for now, I'm going to go open a beer. I think I've earned it.

The page count increased because of the editing. But, I did manage two scenes today. I need to go clean the downstairs and help the room mate out.

Luckily, I am ahead of where I wanted to be at the end of the month.

I wanted to finish this by then, and it truly looks like I'm going to get there!

For now. To cleaning.

I didn't post last night, but I did edit yesterday. Once I have handled responsibilities for the morning, I will head up to my spot and edit again. But, to keep everyone up to date, I'm posting a graphic this morning.

I was going to hope to have it done next week. Unfortunately, I don't think that'll happen. Especially since I have to take at least tomorrow off and possibly Sunday as well. Today, however, seeing as I am taking the weekend off, I will work extra hard. Probably no Dragon Age at all, until tonight. The day will be spent with the editing.

LOOKIT! LOOKIT! Only thirty-three pages left!

That's right folks. This monstrosity that's been hanging over my head since February when the awesome K sent it back to me is almost done with this round of edits!

Then, it'll be rewriting (in August) and then... we'll see where I end up after that. I might shove it away and send it out for a round of edits (J? If I print and snail mail, you'd be willing?) that I won't need back before XMas....

ARGH decisions are hard. But for now? Dragon Age. Because I've earned some mage killing.

Yesterday, I had plans with a friend. We went out to this awesome little coffee shop/bistro thing. There was geekery and talking and all that stuff.

Unfortunately, that meant no editing yesterday. (And no Dragon Age as a consequence)

However! That really set me in gear for today. Today, I jumped right back into the computer chair and began editing again.

I've done three scenes so far today, and will probably do a fourth before bed tonight. So, things are chugging along rather nicely.

The break - which used to just kill my drive - has done wonders for me.

So, to keep an update:

43 pages left. Tonight, that'll change. For now, I've earned a couple hours of Dragon Age.

Edit: 4:01pm

Excuse me for a moment but...

HAWT DAMN!

That's THIRTY-TWO pages in... three days. Yes, people, I am that awesome.

If I get this done before the end of the month - and I might not get much done tomorrow, since I'm meeting a pal for lunch - I'm spakking out with Dragon Age and to HELL with writing for the rest of the month.

Now? The video game beckons.

So, I'm still on a roll. I got three more scenes done today. Three on a Sunday.

Tonight is all about the Dragon Age.

To keep everyone up to date:

Almost 60%! Another scene and life might be golden. Tonight, though, I'm just playing my game. Now, to fix dinner.

Awww yeah. another two scenes done! See, this whole denying myself Dragon Age: Origins so that I can edit is working. Tonight, I'll probably finish a quest on it, and then edit for an hour, and then read until sleep. Because that seems to work the best, since I'm done editing early and can go straight into Dragon Age tonight.

That's thirteen pages done over the last two days. Not bad at all!

I'm rather excited, especially with my new schedule. It's really kinda fast and loose, but it might just be what I need.

Especially with July being dedicated to outlining and research.

So. Tonight is Dragon Age and then more editing. w00t!

Edit: Went ahead and did another scene, just because - it was a short one anyway!

dragonjournal: (Orion)
Lately, I've been very bad about editing. Not only have I barley been home - seriously, last weekend was a wash, as was Monday, Tuesday and yesterday - but when I've been home, I've been exhausted and wanting nothing more than sleep and relaxation.

However, with a small rearrangement of my bedroom - hence giving me an actual computer desk - I managed to sit down and do some editing today. Not a lot, but it did finish off one scene, and that's progress. Which is the important thing.

So, right now, I'm on page 69 of 153. That - for those playing along at home - means 84 pages left. I'm hoping to get a bit more done today as well.

Also, I've begun reading again. I gave up on a book because sometimes you just can't get into it. I'm sure it's a lovely book, but it's just not what I want to read right now.

I'm going back to editing. Maybe, I'll get a few more pages done. I'm hoping anyway.

... I need a new graph where I can substitute "words" for "pages".

Edit: I did end up going back to the editing. Real life, of course, intruded in the middle, but I did get it done. And now I'm going to play Dragon Age: Origins, because I deserve it!
