13. Optimally, how many times does your work go through the revising process?
Well, I'm on draft... 5 of Knights of Orion? It probably needs revised again. I've been thinking about the character development in it lately and am wondering if I can get away with adding more to it.
14. Do you make literary or cultural references in your work? If so, what sources do you usually draw on? How do you decide whether to make (or keep, when editing) a particular reference?
I don't, usually, because most of my stuff is not Urban Fantasy or Contemporary anything. But in KoO, I did make a few references to Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, I believe. Big cultural references that the jokes just flew onto the page.
I'm still not sure I should keep them. But that'll be for the next run through.

13 – Do you prefer canon or fanon when you write? Has writing fanfic for a fandom changed the way you see some or even all of the original source material?
I generally stick with canon. There are few, if any, fanon things I could get behind, especially in my fandoms now.
14 – Ratings – how high are you comfortable with going? Have you ever written higher? If you're comfortable with NC-17, have you ever been shocked by finding that the story you're writing is G-rated instead?
Siiiigh. I just wrote a bunch of NC-17 porn, so I'm as comfortable with that as I am with a G rated fluff piece. The story determines the rating. Not the other way around.
