/kicks the plan out the window
May. 31st, 2023 02:16 pmSee; the original plan was for me to use my Uncle's money to pay off some credit cards, and then buy a car.
That's gone. No car for Cat.
So, here's the upgraded plan:
- Debt consolidation service. That'll mean 28 months, and then debt free. I start making payments next paycheck.
- Uncle Bob's Money. This is going to buy me a car, but it'll be one I buy outright instead of making payments. That's fine to me. It puts the age of the car a little bit back from where I wanted it, but that's okay. As long as it runs well, and I can use it for basic things (back and forth to work, errands) that's fine. Also, good gas mileage.
- Savings I am going to try to start sticking $20, every other paycheck into an account I can't touch. If I can do that, then that will grow - slowly! But surely. Sure, it's only $240 per year, but maybe once the money straightens out, I can put more back. It's the dedication to that $20 that's important. Note: Set up the transfers, that's something, right?
Basically, I'm going to be living short for a long while. That's nothing new just it's something I need to get back in the habit of doing. I'm living without soda... a lot. I've been drinking water and just eating my salt. It helps with the budget, ya know?
I also need to make a list of things that need to be bought for the house, and see where the money stands then. I may have to get a new vacuum. Not sure yet. Gotta clean mine first. See what happens then.
all this will lead me to getting my own car eventually. I need a car, desperately. And anything I make writing wise? Can go right in there, since I'm not depending on it, I don't need to see it. So, that'll be a thing. Sigh. I'm worried about things, badly. But this is the best option for me, I think.
