On Editing

Lately, I've been editing my Steampunk novel. It needs a bad edit, and that's fine, but it's what I've been doing with my time instead of writing, really.

It's not my favorite part of making a story happen, but that's what you've got to do to get anyone to look at it. However, having got critiques back of "This does not go here" I begin to wonder if people can follow stream of consciousness? Like, do they read diaries, or memoirs? Those are often written in stream of consciousness. Now, I'm not saying that my writing is perfect, it's not by any means, but I wonder is all.

Now, it's not every critique. If it were, then the problem would definitely be my writing. But it's a few, so I'm wondering if it's my writing, or them. So, that's a thing I wonder about.

Editing a story now, I'm getting back to, and I realize, the idea/plot is sound, but the writing is crap. I can do better than that! I plan to do better than that! So, that's a story that needs rewritten, completely. There's no editing that to something better.

Also, people please learn the difference between "defiantly" and "definitely" they are two different words, with different meanings. Sigh. I hate being thrown out of a story by those two words being interchanged.

And it's not just some people that do it! I see a lot of people do it. STAHP IT! It's not the same thing!

Gotta go get some blood work done. Also have to make a few phone calls, and go get my script from WalMart because AHAHAHAHAHAHA I'm out of one med that keeps me awake all day and that's not good.
