Working, Money Blues
Sep. 1st, 2020 01:03 pmI have been very good. I haven't gone out to eat, I haven't spent money I didn't account for, I kept to my budget. Meaning that when Labor Day rolls around, I'll get my new washer/dryer! WOO!
I'm just... not doing well in the mental department? No splurges to pick me up, no packages to look forward to. Nothing. I mean, I did get a $75 gift certificate to Amazon, and totally spent it quickly. I bought thread, a book (Alexander Hamilton!) and a front door mat, that has Vader on it and "Welcome to the Dark Side" on it. So, it's not that I didn't get anything, I'm just... blue, I guess.
Yes, a lot of my mental health is tied up in my money. I know that. I need a healthier relationship with money. That isn't going to happen anytime soon, and I don't do well with delayed gratification anyway. If it's going somewhere that's different this is... something else. I dunno.
We've done a lot of meal prep. A lot! And there's some in the fridge, and some cooking right now. That's good because if there is food that is cooked, I rarely order out! Which, helps because DoorDash is so expensive. And so is pizza. So, I'm hoping to not to have to order out. I mean, I know I don't "have" to, but sometimes, you want to.
So, if all my money calculations are correct, which I find out tomorrow, then I should have about $400 to go toward washer/dryer and then, the $1k that is on a credit card.
Not bad, but definitely hoping for more.
That should cover the units and the hoses that I need. If not... well, we'll just have to figure something else out, won't we?
Okay, going to have to figure something out. If the cart on Best Buy is correct, it'll be about $1410. That's a little more than I was planning.
But, I can do it. I think. I mean, it might mean having to put a few things on credit cards. I don't like that choice, but until I know something about the tax, that's going to be my best bet. It sucks! I hate it! But I've got to have a new washer/dryer. So, gotta do what ya gotta do. And yes I could put it off, but I'm not sure I could hold onto the money.
Which, would mean even more OverTime and noooooo. Cannot handle. But today, I paid bills and did what needed to be done, and even though I want Subway, I will be good.
Hopefully, this comes to an end soon.
