A Crafter's Thoughts.
Mar. 15th, 2014 07:11 pmCurrently, I have a single shawl done that could be sold. The other is on the needles and slowly being worked on.* Honestly, I should take pictures and get it available for sale.
However, I want to have more than one, right now. After I finish this one, I think I'll put up both for sale.
But this brings us to the point of this post: Nerves.
I'm always terrified to put anything of mine out there. Whether it be writing or knitting, I don't want it out of my control, because then other people will judge and will know. As long as I keep it to myself, it's all good.
No, this doesn't help me at all, but it's a terror that I need to recognize and work through. I think, partially, it's why this shawl is still on the needles and not been worked on as much as it could be.
See, as much as I want these shawls to make me a little money, WHAT IF NO ONE BUYS THEM? OMG WHAT IF SOMEONE DOES?! And that starts the thought process all over again.
And, really, the only person who can deal with it is me.
So, watch this space. If I can get over myself, maybe I'll finish Lynx, polish it up and put it up here, along with shawls that I've finished so that if people like either, they can donate for Lynx, and can buy the shawls.
That's the way this works, right?
*New glasses are making things interesting too. Bifocals. BAH!
