21. Do you ever participate in writing challenges? Which ones?
OrigFicBingo I was involved with for a while until real life decided to kick me in the nuts. Mostly, I stay away from challenges, because they bother me/I get stagnated/whatever, but every once in a while, I try.
22. Out of all the characters you've ever written, which one is your favorite? Which one has surprised you the most?
Favorite? Hands down? Rissa. I love writing Queen Catanerissa the First of the Moon. I love writing her. Lovelovelove.
etcetera_cat knows why.
Surprised me? I'm going with Tal and Maddie of Knights of Orion. Because 1) Their derp is so damned adorable; 2) They're wicked smart and moral about it; and 3) Their love is true. Tal takes care of Maddie because she couldn't find her way out of a wet paper bag with a map, a guide and "Wet Paper Bags for Dummies". But. She can make connections that seem like leaps of logic until you follow the information; she will risk her life for another, and not feel bad about defying someone to do it; and she never remembers anyone's name. It was a quirk that I gave her that just made her - and Tal's often exasperation with her - so genuine so real that I actually feel bad about doing bad things to her.

21 – Sequels – Have you ever written a sequel to a fic you wrote, and if so, why, and if not, how do you feel about sequels?
I have written sequels. Listening Eyes and Echoes (both Valdemar) go together. Listening Eyes is the first one and Echoes follows, though they sort of dovetail together to create a whole story.
Also there's Homecoming and Marching Home. Marching Home is a sequel to Homecoming and again, one that completes the story started in Homecoming.
why? Because I had the story to tell. That's all there is to it.
22 – Have you ever participated in a fest or a Big Bang? If so, write about your favorite experience in relation to one. If not, are there any you've thought about doing? And if not, why not?
I haven't. Sometimes, it's just because I don't have time. Sometimes, it's just because I'm going through a depressed episode and can't be bothered to wrangle with words. Sometimes, it's because the silly people put the fest/Big Bang in November of all months.
