Inspiration
I was asked (in that it was part of the comm I am in) about what "inspires" me. I wrote a very short answer:
There are things that inspire me. Music, images... but I have to say some of my biggest inspiration is Sam, my brother. We talk about everything from fandoms to real life to my kids to random things we find on the internet. Honestly, we're very open about everything. And sometimes, he will link me to something and we'll start talking about fic and then I'm writing. (I'm the writer, he's the enabler.)
It's something that I love about our relationship. There are other things, but Sam really is my inspiration.
I want to expand on it for a moment:
I am not saying that other things don't inspire me, including my kids, they do. But, Sam has no problem putting me in my place and telling me to go fucking write. He also doesn't mind me whining about random things and then writing more. And if he gives me something - a line, a scene, something - he doesn't scream plagiarism if I use it.
I love that we can toss things back and forth so much.
So, this is a thank you. To Sam, to the others that have inspired me over the years (Katey, E, J, Kaz, hell, even St. Sarah) and continue to be willing to kick my ass a lot if needed.
