More word wars
I only participated in three today.
But, I did get some decent word counts in.
Let's see:
30 minutes: 1023
30 minutes: 967
30 minutes: 970
In 90 minutes of writing that's 2960. Not bad. (even if it's only 33-ish words per minute)
Tonight, there will be more word wars, since I finished the scene I had been working on. Next, I get to really move a bit more plot along, and that'll help things pick up again.
I might war tonight, but I don't think so. My brain is pretty much done for the day. I can always work on it tomorrow, and deal with things then. Tonight, I think I'd much rather watch anime.
One thing I'd like to note, though. The classes I'm taking have one, small, hitch to them. They're very geared toward romance writing. And while I'm not adverse to writing romance, and have done in the past, my current works just aren't geared toward it. They have romance "elements" but are not, really, romance stories at all.
Which, honestly, is fine. Now that I know that, I'll be taking that into consideration.
It might, actually, deter me from taking the other courses that seemed so interesting. I'm keeping an open mind though, and trying to take away what I can from the course.
Tonight, I might actually dust off my old romance writing and see about fitting it to the course.

Only my opinion, but if you're not interested in writing romance, don't. Write what you want to write, especially since you're paying for it. If it didn't specifically state that it was a romance writing class, then you should be able to write non-romance fiction.
