I am... 43
That's right, my birthday passed on Saturday. I didn't really do much, except go out to dinner with the twins. It's kinda different being able to go out with both of them, now that they're twenty. And by the way... who the hell said they could grow up? Sage is talking about moving to Virginia, and just... no, she's two! (I know she's twenty, but dammit!)
So, we went to Applebee's and had a good dinner, and enjoyed talking, and AJ got to hug his twin, for the first time in a long time. It was really sweet. I didn't get a hug. But that's okay. AJ did, and that's what matters.
At the beginning of the month, I changed jobs. I'm still with the same company, still a pharmacy technician, but I'm no longer on the phones, I'm no longer taking calls from people who don't want to talk to me. Instead, it's all list work? No calls at all, except the occasional call out to the doctor's office. And that's okay, because it's usually just "Hi, this is Cat. I'm a pharmacy tech with [company]. Could you confirm your fax number for me?" And that's it. They give me the fax number and I wish them a wonderful day and go on about my business.
I really like my new job. Same pay scale, same everything, but no phones. And that's the important thing.
Uh, what else. Oh. I have a five year plan to get in a condo and out of renting. It's... gonna be hard. It's hard now. But, with Sam's support, and a few brain space shifts, it should be okay. So, I spend $700 a month in credit cards and loans. That's student loans and car loan. So, not all bad debt? But definitely not great debt. And it adds up to about... $22000, that's before my deferred loans step in. That's another $50k on top, so. I'm attempting to pay down everything I can.
Visa: 25
Visa: 60
Discover: 40
Paypal: 40
Car: 285
Apple: 50
Aspire: 50
Loans: 90
Mattress: 75
These are my monthly payments, so far. I'll probably draw out the car loan the longest because it's the biggest, and I can pay almost everything off pretty quick, if I start rolling payments into one another. When I do that, by the time I get to my car payment, it'll be $285 + 415 extra principle. So that'll be nice. I've paid a few extra dollars here and there in the past, but nothing like that.
Visa, Visa, Discover, Paypal, Apple and Aspire are all credit cards. Mattress is also a credit card, but it's one that can only be used for furnishings. I don't need any more furnishings (bought new beds, box springs, mattresses and a couch!) so, hopefully, that one will disappear pretty quickly.
And to really call myself out, some of those credit cards are maxed out. I cut them up. as long as they remain open, they'll go on my credit history, but I need to pay down the balances.
I don't know that it'll work? But like, I'm going to try. Because once almost everything is paid off, time to start saving for a condo. And yeah, I know about HOAs, but the reason a condo, is I don't want the yard work.
Anyway, I've babbled enough and bored you enough. Time to go to bed. Gym and then physical therapy in the morning. <3

I'm glad you have a job you like better! It sounds great... I don't like being on the phone, either.
That's exciting about the condo! I've been thinking about home ownership as well, but I think I'll be here with my mother for the foreseeable future.
Your gyms are open? Not here. I just started PT a couple of days ago for a minor nerve issue that is causing tingling/numbness in my thigh that I've been having for six months. Hopefully, it will work and solve the problem.

I have to go to PT for lymphedema in my legs. It's... not horrible, but it's definitely an issue and I don't like it, so I'm going to PT to do some things to relieve it.
the condo is a ways off. But I'm hoping because I really want to stop renting. Yes, I realize all the important work that will then be my responsibility, but it'll hopefully be worth it.

I hope your PT works quickly! And I think real estate ownership can be a really wise investment. Do you want to stay local, or go somewhere else? Would grad school be a possibility at some point (I can't recall if you nixed the idea altogether, or just postponed it)?
South Carolina, yes. I hope they're doing well.
