Rebuilding journal search again

We're having to rebuild the search server again (previously, previously). It will take a few days to reindex all the content.

Meanwhile search services should be running, but probably returning no results or incomplete results for most queries.

Sunshine Revival

[community profile] sunshine_revival has posted a Friending Meme. The calendar of activities is here and the fest will open on July 1. Prompts will appear throughout July which you can fill with any creative activity. It's a great way to make new friends.  If your goals include setting seasonal goals, arts and crafts, writing, or making new friends then [community profile] sunshine_revival can help with that. Use the master post to navigate the event.

New Year's Resolutions Check In

We made it to the end of June! \o/ If you have completed some of your medium-term goals or subgoals, and/or you're still chugging away at your ongoing goals, then pat yourself on the back. You worked hard for that. We've also entered summer. If you're doing seasonal goals, hopefully you have finished the spring one(s), and started on the summer batch.

This year I'm trying something new, continuing to track goals at the end of each month. So far it seems to be helping, so that's encouraging. I'm looking at my goal list more often and trying to keep ticking off more of them. The main drawback is that this update becomes more of a chore each month.

These are the previous check in posts:
New Year's Resolutions Check In January 4
New Year's Resolutions Check In January 10
New Year's Resolutions Check In January 17
New Year's Resolutions Check In January 24
New Year's Resolutions Check In January 31
New Year's Resolutions Check In February 28
New Year's Resolutions Check In March 31
New Year's Resolutions Check in April 30
New Year's Resolutions Check In May 31

Just Create - Netsuke Edition

(One of these days I'll run out of random objects within my eyeline to name the weekly post after)

What are you working on? What have you finished? What do you need encouragement on?

Are there any cool events or challenges happening that you want to hype?

What do you just want to talk about?

What have you been watching or reading?

Chores and other not-fun things count!

Remember to encourage other commenters and we have a discord where we can do work-alongs and chat, linked in the sticky

Sign Up June 27 - 29!

Need to get some words in? The Weekend Writing Marathon (WWM) is a writing challenge designed to help you do just that. You set your own writing goal for the weekend and work to achieve it before reporting back to the group on Sunday night.

How do I participate?

1. Reply to this post with your weekend writing plans–be as specific (or not) as you’d like.

2. Start writing on Friday 12:01 am local time. Work to meet your goal by Sunday night at 11:59 pm local time. You can work on whatever you want during this time.

3. Post your accomplishments to the Finish Line post at the end of the weekend (even if you didn’t reach your goal).

How do I report my accomplishments?

A Finish Line post will go up on Sunday. Reblog that post with your final word count/accomplished goal(s) by Monday at midnight local time. Totals from the weekend will be posted on Tuesday.

This challenge is currently running on 2 platforms: pillowfort, and dreamwidth. If you sign up on this platform, please respond to the Finish Line post on this platform.

Let us know if you have any questions!

Challenge 484

Think about dreams… what do you think your characters dream about? Is it something pleasant or horrifying?

Write a scene of your character waking up from a dream and trying to describe it to another character

Challenge #483

Think about the past couple of days and choose something that you did or happened to you. It should be something that lasted no more than a minute -- it can either be some short event, like a phone call or wrong number, or a small part of a longer event, such as locking the front door, getting in the car, and starting it up to get to your destination.

Now, write that thing as if it happened to your chosen character. Translate the event to whatever the character's situation is (for example, if it was Luke Skywalker, "getting in the car and starting it up" might be "climbing into the X-Wing and starting the launch sequence).
