Flash Flood
Got the response back from Flash Flood about their flash fiction contest. Not sure I want this out in public, so I'll put it under a cut.
I GOT ACCEPTED
I'm getting published! Sure, it's just for a flashfiction competition, but I WILL TAKE THE WIN.
I wasn't expecting that, at all! I was honestly expecting a denial, and then I was going to move on, but I dunno where to go from here? The story I submitted, Step, hadn't been edited at all. It was raw and written very quickly before class during my Bachelor degree seeking days. I'm not sure how to take that, except it's time to start pulling other things out, getting them done, and sending them out. That's what this means right?
I am taking the win, don't get me wrong. I am definitely taking the win! I just want to take the win and build it into something more because it's a win and that's what you do. You enter some contests, win or lose, and then keep going.
So, today, I will be beta-reading for someone else, and for myself. Editing will come later. For now, I'm writing comments and making notes.
My plan is to get the Steampunk read by the end of next week, then put that aside and start writing on something again. Not sure what, hopefully Slayers, or Fae Hunter, or my new Werewolf story.
One of those three would be nice, but I may have to dig back and work on something else, because I seem to be resurrecting old stories these days and finishing them, and then moving on to other things.
So, that was my news. How're you all?
